First Visit Guide

Your First Visit

On your first visit, you will be required to fill in a new patient form. You can download this form from here[Linked to New Patient Form & Responder] and complete this before you come for your appointment to save time.

Dr Huo will review your complete family and medical history and order various tests to understand the problem and determine your overall health. These tests are important as a definitive diagnosis will be based on the results and appropriate treatment will be determined.

What to Expect & Bring

When you come for your Appointments, please remember to bring the following

  • Referral letter from GP, family physician or other referring doctor
  • Medicare card, DVA card, pension card
  • Have your Private Health Insurance information with you
  • Blood test results, Endoscopy Reports, Radiology Reports, hard/digital copies of X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, etc., and any other relevant information

Next Step

Following the tests, your doctor will thoroughly review the results. A definitive diagnosis is made. Based on this diagnosis, your doctor will discuss the various treatment options, and suggest the best plan for your particular condition. You will be encouraged to make an informed decision regarding your health and treatment choice. Feel free to ask questions and clarify all your doubts regarding alternate options, preparing for your procedure, what happens during the procedure, your post-procedural care, pros and cons of the procedure, possible complications and how to best prevent them and the probable outcomes of the procedure. Your doctor will be glad to answer all your questions and help you make the right choice in your care.
